Since Facebook's inception, your profile has been the place where you tell your story. You use it to share everything from the small stuff, like your thoughts on an article, to the most important events of your lives, like the photos of their wedding or the birth of their child.

Mark Zuckerberg's keynote at the f8 conference on Thursday introduced some of the most exciting changes seen on Facebook since its began, which are going to totally re-define social. Three of the biggest changes are:

New profile look:

When you visit Facebook you will see things you're most interested in lay out in a clean and fresh way. The old Two-Option News Feed, which made you choose either Top Stories or Most Recent is no more.

The ticker is a live-feed area that is in the upper right hand corner of the screen and gives you a running play-by-play of what is happening literally right now. Click on anything in ticker to see the full story – without losing your place. Seeing it move in real time may be a bit distracting but we predict within a couple of weeks you will love it and will be unable to remember Facebook without it afterward.

The following things will dominate the new profiles.

Timeline: The Story of your Life

Back in the early days of Facebook, your profile was pretty basic – just your name, a photo, where you went to school...stuff you'd cover in the first five minutes you met someone.

Over time, your profile evolved to better reflect how you actually communicate with someone. Now you can can share photos of what you did last week, and tell how you feel today.

Facebook has gone a step further with the introduction of timeline, with a tag line: all your stories, all your apps, a new way to express who you are. Which means The story of your life is on one single page. It comes equipped with a time-slotter which allows you to browse through time. How cool is that?

Next version of Open Graph

Facebook's mission is to make the world more open and connected, helping you map out all your connections which gives you a more personal experience. Facebook has built a new class of apps that lets you show the things you like to do on your timeline – the music you listen to, the recipes you try, the runs you take and more.

These apps also help you discover what your friends are up to. You can even join in if you want: play the song they're listening to, or watch the same movie.

Now, you and your friends will be able to tell all the different parts of your story – from the tiny details you do each day to your biggest moments you treasure. What are your treasured moments? Let us know in comments.
